A: Yes, agents are required to complete classroom pre-licensing coursework prior to taking the licensing examination.

Q: What is the pre-license education completion procedure?
A: Following successful course completion the agent should receive a completion certificate. A copy of the completion form must be presented at the licensing examination.

Examination Fees: $50/one line - $85/two lines

Q: What is the license examination procedure?
A: Licensees, following completion of pre-licensing, will schedule a licensing examination with Promissor.

Continuing Education Requirements

Q: What is the CE requirement for each license type?
A: Life = 24 Hours
Health = 24 Hours
Life & Health = 24 Hours
Property = 24 Hours
Casualty = 24 Hours
Property & Casualty = 24 Hours

Q: What training methods are allowed?
A: Classroom / Online - Self Study

Q: What is the license renewal period?
A: Licensees must provide evidence of CE completion on or before February 15 of each odd-numbered year.

Q: Are carryover credits allowed from one renewal period to the next?
A: Carryover of CE credits is not allowed.

Q: Is course repetition allowed?
A: Course repetition within the same renewal period is not allowed; course repetition is allowed from one renewal period to the next.

Q: Who is exempt from meeting CE requirements?
A: Resident agents who hold an exclusive limited line insurance license for credit, legal expense, and title insurance are exempt from the CE requirements. Newly licensed agents are also exempt during their first renewal period. Non-resident agents are not required to complete Wisconsin CE given that home state CE requirements are met.
