New York State Requirements
New York Insurance Continuing Education
courses are provided by Softech Intl. dba 360training.
New York regulations require that all final exams be proctored by an approved third party. Please reference the state requirements for a list of available proctors. The proctor will be required to enter their specific approval information prior to accessing the final exam.
We offer the following certified New York Insurance CE (continuing
education) classes:

Continuing Education Hours
ALL CE CREDITS NECESSARY FOR LICENSE RENEWAL MAY NOW BE EARNED THROUGH SELF-STUDY.
• Fifteen (15) CE credit hours are required biennially for a single license.
• Thirty (30) CE credit hours are required biennially for combined L/H and P/C.
Continuing Education Compliance Date
6/30 prior to agent's license expiration date.
License Renewal Date
• 6/30 of odd years for L/H agents
• 6/30 of even years for P/C agents
• 10/31 of even years for P/C Brokers

Course Subject Requirements
• Courses must be approved for lines of insurance for which license is held.
• LH/PC-combined licensees must complete the full CE requirement in courses approved for LH and the full CE requirement for PC. Courses that are approved for both may be applied to both the LH and PC requirement.
Carryover Requirements
Not allowed.
Course Repetition
Credit will not be given for a course that is repeated within a reporting period.
Final Exam
Self-study final exams are required to be monitored by a NEW YORK STATE APPROVED MONITOR. An approved monitor must be present throughout the exam.

Exemptions from CE Requirements
• Non resident agents whose home state requires CE and has a reciprocal agreement with New York.
• Individuals who have a limited line license for which a licensing exam is not required in New York.
• Newly licensed individuals are exempt for the 1st compliance period.
