Nebraska State Requirements
Nebraska Insurance Pre-Licensing Exam Preparation
The 30-hour, self-paced online courses feature interactive learning aids that enhance user understanding of key concepts and improve knowledge retention. A comprehensive exam prep and simulation containing hundreds of questions with remediation and feedback are also included in all courses.
The Life and Health insurance pre-licensing course surveys life, accident and health insurance principles and concepts common to all state producer licensing exams, giving students relevant information about health, accident and disability insurance, contract law, health insurance providers, health insurance policies, government programs, private insurance plans for seniors, underwriting and premiums, group health insurance and the uses of health insurance.
The Property and Casualty course surveys property and casualty insurance principles and concepts common to all state producer licensing exams, giving students relevant information about industry regulation, underwriting, property insurance, personal lines, commercial lines, inland marine, commercial floaters and federal programs, crime insurance and bonds, and workers' compensation.

Insurance Pre-licensing courses are intended for licensing examination preparation only. No pre-licensing course credit will be granted for completion.

Nebraska State Requirements
Continuing Education Hours
• Life: 6 hours biennially
• Sickness, Accident and Health: 6 hours biennially
• Life, Sickness, Accident, and Health 12 hours biennially
• Variable contracts: 6 hours biennially
• Property and Casualty: If renewal date is prior to 1/1/02: 24 hours biennially. If renewal date is after 1/1/02: 21 hours biennially.
• Combined LH/PC: If renewal date is prior to 1/1/02: 24 hours biennially. If renewal date is after 1/1/02: 21 hours biennially.
• Domestic Assessment Association: 12 hours biennially
• Title: 6 hours biennially
• Crop or Fidelity and Surety: 3 hours biennially
• Remainder of limited lines (that are not exempt): 6 hours biennially
Continuing Education Compliance Date
The compliance date is 45 days prior to license renewal. The renewal date is the last day of birth month, biennially.
License Renewal Date
The license renewal date is the last day of birth month, biennially.
Types of courses accepted for CE Credit
• Independent self-study courses.
• Classroom study.
Final Exam
Self-study final exams are not required to be monitored.
Course Subject Requirements
o Courses must be approved for lines of insurance for which license is held.
o Licensees must complete, in addition to the basic requirement, six hours in insurance-related ethics is required if renewal date is prior to 1/1/02. After 1/1/02, three hours in insurance-related ethics is required.
o Individuals licensed for crop only, fidelity and surety only or title insurance only must complete an additional three hours in insurance-related ethics.
Carryover Requirements
Excess CE credit hours may not be carried over to the next reporting period.
Course Repetition
Courses (including courses approved to meet the ethics requirement) may not be taken for credit more than once in a four-year period.
Exemptions
o Individuals who hold a limited-lines license for credit life/credit accident and health, auto mechanical breakdown, prepaid legal, motor club, prepaid dental, health maintenance organization or unemployment credit insurance.
o Individuals licensed less than two years at the time of the first CE compliance date are exempt for that first reporting period.
o Non residents are exempt.
