We offer the following certified Maryland Insurance CE (continuing
education) classes:
Maryland State Requirements
Continuing Education Hours
Sixteen (16) CE credit hours are required biennially to renew a license.
8 hours biennially for agents with 25 years or more of experience as a licensed agent in Maryland.
Correspondence courses may constitute no more that 50% of the required credit hours for Maryland resident licensees. This rule is approved through state legislation.
Continuing Education Compliance Date
Same as license renewal date.
License Renewal Date
License renewal date is every two years on date of license issuance.
Type of courses accepted for CE Credit
Independent self-study courses, classroom or insurer-sponsored courses.
Course Subject Requirements
• Courses must be approved for lines of insurance for which license is held
• LH/PC combined licensees must complete 4 hours in each LH and PC.
• Individuals wishing to sell LTC must complete 2 hours of LTC education prior to selling and then biennially thereafter. The 2 hours counts towards the CE requirement.
Carryover Requirements
Not allowed.
Course Repetition
Credit will not be give for a course that is repeated within a 2 year period.If the courses is taken in 2 consecutive reporting periods, there must be 6 months between completion dates.
Final Exam
Self-study exams are not required to be monitored.
Exemptions
• Individuals licensed less than 1 year at the time of the compliance date
• Individuals who hold a credit life, credit health, or travel license
• Agents who are 70 years of age or older.

STUDENT EXPERIENCE:
1. Student will pay and enroll in course.
2. A monitor/proctor is not required.
3. The mastery level of the final is up to the provider.
4. The final can be open book.
5. There is not an established limit on how many times a student can retake the final. Each exam needs to be different.
6. Once the student passes the final he/she should receive a certificate from the provider. The provider needs to use the Easy Bank software to report the CE credits of students.
