Idaho State Requirements
Idaho Insurance Pre-Licensing Exam Preparation
The 30-hour, self-paced online courses feature interactive learning aids that enhance user understanding of key concepts and improve knowledge retention. A comprehensive exam prep and simulation containing hundreds of questions with remediation and feedback are also included in all courses.
The Life and Health insurance pre-licensing course surveys life, accident and health insurance principles and concepts common to all state producer licensing exams, giving students relevant information about health, accident and disability insurance, contract law, health insurance providers, health insurance policies, government programs, private insurance plans for seniors, underwriting and premiums, group health insurance and the uses of health insurance.
The Property and Casualty course surveys property and casualty insurance principles and concepts common to all state producer licensing exams, giving students relevant information about industry regulation, underwriting, property insurance, personal lines, commercial lines, inland marine, commercial floaters and federal programs, crime insurance and bonds, and workers' compensation.

Insurance Pre-licensing courses are intended for licensing examination preparation only. No pre-licensing course credit will be granted for completion.

Idaho State Requirements
Continuing Education Hours
40 hours biennially, regardless of lines held, for resident agents licensed 1-6 years. 12 hours per line, biennially, for resident agents licensed 7 years or more.
1 line - 12 hours
2 lines - 24 hours
3 lines - 36 hours
4 lines - 40 hours
Continuing Education Compliance Date
The compliance date is the license renewal date. The license renewal is the first day of the month following the license issuance date, biennially.

Types of courses accepted for CE Credit
• Independent self-study courses.
• Classroom study.
Final Exam
Self-study final exams are not required to be monitored.
Course Subject Requirements
Any Idaho approved CE course.
Carryover Requirements
A maximum of 50% of the required CE hours may be carried over to the next reporting period.
Course Repetition
Course repetition is not allowed.
Exemptions
• Non-resident agents.
• One individual specifically registered in an organization who holds a limited license to sell a limited line only.
• Temporary licenses.
• Limited agent for credit life and disability insurance.
• Licensees who have applied for and been granted inactive status by the insurance director.
• Employees or owners of travel agencies licensed to sell travel insurance.
• Licensees on extended active military duty are exempt for the period of duty.
• National- or state-chartered banks, federal- or state-chartered savings and loan associations, or federal- or state-chartered credit unions that hold a limited license.
• Other exemptions will be granted if good cause exists as approved in advance by the CE Advisory Committee.

Course Approval Procedure:
All continuing education programs are reviewed and approved by the Continuing Education Advisory Committee.
Course submissions are reviewed on the first Friday of each month unless a national holiday occurs on or near that date.
STUDENT EXPERIENCE for CE:
1. Student will pay and enroll in the course.
2. Student does not need to answer security and validation questions throughout the course validating the identity of the student. (State does not require a monitor or proctor during exams)
3. No mastery on lesson quizzes.
4. Upon the successful completion of the course, the student can take an open book final exam.
5. Student will be allowed to take the final as many times as he wants.
