We offer the following certified California Insurance CE (continuing
education) classes:
California State Requirements
Continuing Education Hours
• 25 hours annually for first four years following original license issuance date, After the first four years, the licensee will need to complete thirty-hours (30) of continuing education for every two-year license term.
• Bail agents must complete six hours annually in classroom instruction only.
• Those holding personal lines licenses must complete 20 hours.
Types of courses accepted for CE Credit
• Independent self-study courses (except for partnership LTC credits & bail agent CE).
• Classroom study.
Final Exam
Self-study final exams are not required to be monitored, except for courses approved specifically to meet the "24 hour Coverage" requirement, which must be monitored by a disinterested third party (i.e., someone with no business or family relationship to the student).
Course Subject Requirements
• Courses must be approved for lines of insurance for which license is held.
• Individuals who sell long-term care products must complete eight hours annually for the first four years, then eight hours biannually thereafter. Courses must be taken in the newly revised curriculum which has a course category of TQ and "CTQ 2000" in the title.
• Individuals who sell California Partnership for Long-Term Care products must obtain eights hours of specific partnership LTC and eight hours of California-approved LTC credits before soliciting. Thereafter, eight hours in each type of LTC CE courses must be completed biannually. However, a new licensee must complete eight hours of California-approved LTC annually for the first four years of licensure, and eight hours in partnership LTC biannually. These courses apply toward the completion of the basic CE requirement.
• Life agents who wish to sell the combined Group Health and Workers Compensation plan known as "24 Hour Coverage" must complete a specific, California-approved, four-hour course before solicitation. This course will only need to be taken once, and the credits can be used to meet the basic CE requirement.
Carryover Requirements
If licensed less than four years, a maximum of 25 hours may be carried over to the next 12 month period. If licensed four years or more, a maximum of 30 hours earned only in the second half of a biennial reporting period may be carried over to the next reporting period.
Course Repetition
Courses (including California-specific LTC courses) may not be taken for credit more than once in each biennial reporting period.
Exemptions
• Cargo Shipper's Agents.
• Agents who are 70 years or older and have held an insurance license in good standing for 30 years or more. These agents must still meet the long-term care and CA Partnership long-term care requirement if they choose to solicit long-term care products.
• Nonresidents are exempt on a reciprocal basis. However, the LTC requirement still applies.

STUDENT EXPERIENCE:
1. Student will pay and enroll in the course for CE.
2. Student will answer security and validation questions throughout the course validating the identity of the student. (any life agent who wishes to sell 24-hour care coverage must complete a proctored examination administered or approved by the department. )
3. Lesson Master is not required by the state.
4. Upon the successful completion of the course, the student will be able to take an OPEN BOOK final exam.
5.Student can attempt the final exam unlimited times. The passing mark is 70%.
