Q: What is the pre-license education completion procedure?
A: Applicants will submit a certificate of completion of 36 hours of pre-licensing to the insurance department along with a license application and fees in order to take the Arkansas agent examination.

Q: What is the license examination procedure?
A: Licensees, following completion of pre-licensing, will schedule a licensing examination with the department of insurance.

Continuing Education Requirements
Q: What is the CE requirement for each license type?
A: Life = 8 Hours
Health = 8 Hours
Life & Health = 10 Hours
Property = 8 Hours
Casualty = 8 Hours
Property & Casualty = 10 Hours
Q: What training methods are allowed?
A: Classroom / Online - Self Study
Q: What is the license renewal period?
A: Licensees must provide evidence of CE completion prior to their annual renewal; renewal is based on individual agent date of birth.
Q: Are carryover credits allowed from one renewal period to the next?
A: Carryover of 8 CE credits is allowed.
Q: Is course repetition allowed?
A: Course repetition within the same renewal period is not allowed.
Q: Who is exempt from meeting CE requirements?
A: Adjusters and limited adjusters and consultants are exempt from the CE requirements. Any person who is at least sixty years of age, or a person who has held a license as an agent, solicitor, consultant or broker for at least 15 consecutive years is exempt. Third-party administrators who do not solicit business, and non-resident agents or brokers are also exempt.
Q: What is the CE completion procedure?
A: Each agent shall submit written certification/proof of completion (Appendix E) to the Commissioner with appropriate fees.
Q: What fees are associated with license renewal?
A: There is a $10 annual fee charged for license renewal.
